For generations, the evils of racism have led to countless injustices and unnecessary deaths, with George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor being the latest victims. We are heartbroken for their families and all of those impacted by these recurring injustices. Northwest Independent Baseball League stands with the black community and all Minorities, we believe no one should have to live in fear on a daily basis. We are committed to being part of the solution, striving for positive change in our community on the issues of race, discrimination and injustice. We want to be a leader in the quest for a future shaped by equality, respect, understanding, and dignity, and not by fear, discrimination and ignorance. Please join us in these endeavors to make NWIBL a League for everyone.

To All Managers and Players in the NWIBL

We hope this finds you all safe and well. We are in a self-hibernation during the next month but we are always available by phone or facetime.

While we believe in “Physical Distancing” during this pandemic, we are committed to staying socially connected. If you need equipment let us know, I do have practice balls and the L-Frame if needed, (I was going to have a weekly practice but that’s on hold). Please follow Federal, CDC, State and Local Guidelines when using any Practice Facilities and keep your groups to less than 10 people at a time.

We are working closely with the City parks that rent fields to the NWIBL and have dates/permits in hand.  I have started to post schedules for the 2020 season one field location at a time and should be done by the end of March. If the season is canceled all payments will be refunded (they are being keep in a separate account). We have set May 16 and 17 to start the season for 18+ and May 18 for the 30/40 plus. (If we get a delay we have May 30th or June 6/7th available). This is set for a 20 game and double elimination for the 18+ and a 16 game and double elimination for the 30/40+. We are fortunate enough to have an extra week this year and look to 8/30/2020 for the 18+ Championship Game, and Sept  (We also could use Labor Day weekend if needed). The 30/40+ championship Game will be Sept.4th

We the owners of the NWIBL are following all the events associated with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) closely. The spread of this virus
and its impact is changing daily and the sports industry is responding as a group in different ways with all of us watching on a daily basis.
The NWIBL season is scheduled to start on May 16th 2020. We will be assessing Federal, State, and our local  governmental regulations associated with the covis-19 Virus.  We will also review the actions and recommendations of other local armature and professional organizations in the Portland area. Please check here from time to time as we will provide updates on the 2020 NWIBL Season.
