Portland Or
Are you a High School or College player
that has graduated this year and you are not ready
to take off the cleats, hang up your glove, or get rid of that
metal bat? Well trade that metal bat, for a good wood
bat, put the cleats back on and play more baseball this summer
in the
Northwest Independent Baseball League.
Here you can continue playing wood bat baseball and
meet new friends.

Wood
Baseball Bats
Wood bats were the only choice for any batter in
the game of baseball until the mid 1970's. But
today, wood bats are used far less often than
aluminum bats on both the baseball and softball
diamonds. Pros are required to use wood bats, and
for safety reasons, some high school leagues have
recently moved to wood only. Most wooden bats are
made of northern white ash, but in recent years
maple has become a popular option. This trend
started with the success of MLB players since the
2001 season. |
|
Do you miss the crack of a baseball rocketing off a WOOD BAT?
Do you miss puttin' on metal spikes and gettin' dirty diving
for that "web gem" play? Miss the thrill of blowing a fastball
by a hitter? Getting mobbed by your team for that walk off hit
that drives in the winning run? We play hard and we play to win
but most importantly we have fun.

The
Northwest Independent
Baseball League
teams are dedicated to helping take
the level of play to new heights. To this end, the
League coaches and players will conduct
clinics and seminars for youth players that will
help build on the baseball foundations that they’re
developing and give them the athletic and
sportsmanship skills that will help carry them to
the next level of competition.
Whether it’s helping to improve the facilities in
the area, or the building on the skills of local
players, the NWIBL is intent on proving that
baseball is more than just a spectator sport. Fans of all types
are welcome and encouraged to come cheer on teams in the
